Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
521 PM EDT Mon Oct 16 2017

.SYNOPSIS...
After a cool start to the week, building high pressure will
result in dry and gradually warming weather through the rest of
the week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM TUESDAY MORNING/...
Minor adjustments made to hourly temperature reading and sky
cover based on the latest observations and trends. Otherwise,
cu should diminish with the loss of heating this evening, with
clear skies and calm winds dominating under building high
pressure.

Expect temperatures to fall rapidly to below seasonal averages
tonight as we decouple with areas of frost expected. Will
maintain the frost advisory as is - in the counties where the
growing season continues.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 AM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY/...
High pressure will remain firmly entrenched over the area
through the middle of the week, ensuring a dry forecast. After
the cool start Tuesday morning, daytime temperatures will begin
to moderate under mostly sunny skies. Brief ridging through
Wednesday will be stunted by a system passing well to our north
Thursday. This system will have little impact to our area, with
only a few additional clouds as a result.

&&

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/...
After a brief flattening of the ridge Thursday night, higher
heights will build back in through the end of the week,
continuing the dry and warming trend. Ridge looks to maximize
over the weekend with highs slated to be well-above average.
Models continue to show the next chance of rain coming with a
cold front early next week.

&&

.AVIATION /21Z MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
VFR conditions are expected for through the period, as cu
diminishes this eve with the loss of heating. Wind will
diminish as well, with a gradual backing from the northwest to
the southwest by tomorrow morning.

.Outlook...
No widespread restrictions are expected under high pressure.
