Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
743 AM EDT Tue Oct 17 2017

.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure will result in gradually warming weather and dry
conditions through the week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
No changes needed this morning as high pressure will maintain
nearly clear skies and light wind today. Temperatures will
moderate to closer to normal values with plenty of sun and
warming mid-levels.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY/...
High pressure will remain firmly entrenched over the area
through the rest of the week, ensuring a dry forecast. Brief
ridging through Wednesday will be stunted by a system passing
well to our north Thursday but this system will have little
impact to our area, with only a few additional clouds as a
result.

&&

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY/...
After a brief flattening of the ridge Thursday night, higher
heights will build back in through the weekend, continuing the
dry and warming trend. Ridge looks to maximize over the weekend
with highs slated to be well-above average. Models continue to
show the next chance of rain coming with a cold front early next
week.

&&

.AVIATION /12Z TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/...
VFR is expected through the TAF period under high pressure.

.Outlook...
No widespread restrictions expected under high pressure.
